The best hitters develop a hitting plan before they go up to bat. That is only possible when players know their strengths and weaknesses, as well as clues they receive from watching the opposing pitcher. Coaches can help players with all of those things by asking them some questions that help ballplayers develop a plan for their next at-bat and for adjusting for the future. It is difficult for youth coaches to know if their message and teachings are getting across. without asking for answers.

Of course, the best case scenario is having their coach and parents develop positive character traits in youth. The best athlete's perspective is one that helps them understand concepts like pride, humility, teamwork, focus, work ethic and confidence.
