This coaching course for baseball takes us to the hot corner - third base is the "hot corner" for a good reason, as many hard hit balls get there quickly, especially with the abundance of right-handed batters in baseball. With the lengthy throw, a strong-armed player at third base is essential, but most importantly, a fearless player to handle the hotshots, is best. Third baseman do not have to have great range but quick reflexes, the ability to charge slow hit balls, a willingness to dive and stay in front of hard hit balls is necessary for the third base position.

Show Me a Kid Who Doesn't Like This Let's face it, there are times when baseball practice becomes a little slow, especially with inexperienced youth baseball coaches at the helm. When things seem to be dragging a little at practice, it is always good to have that "Go To" plan, which picks up every ones spirits. One of the go to plans I use is the hitting game. I have never observed many kids who did not like playing this hitting game, as long as it is run correctly.

Thursday Throwing Tips Fielding ThrowingDrill

It is common to see a player field a routine ground ball with a fast runner at-bat and make a strong accurate throw to first. On the next batter, who is not nearly so fast, the same fielder eases up on the throw and throws it wildly to first base. Players learn to throw the ball hard to first base, but there are times when they do not need such a hard throw and it is difficult to ease up with the same accuracy.
