Who we are.
DAWSON MAVERICKS·TUESDAY,
I am a firm but fair coach who is not only going to teach your children about the greatest game in the world, but how to play it with sportsmanship and respect. Make no mistake, myself and my staff are here to have a boat load of fun. However, we are going to treat each other and the other teams with their due respect. There are 3 pillars to my coaching philosophy:
Attitude and effort - each member of our team will approach their practices and games with a good attitude and good effort.
Mistakes - we admit them, fix them and do not repeat them.
Hard work does pay off.
On our team there will be minimal rules. These rule however do not bend. We use manners when speaking with each other, coaches, umpires and parents. We will respect the umpire decisions and will not argue with them. ( this goes for the parents too.) We are on time and ready to play or practice. Baseball is a game that is filled with frustrations. It is our jobs as parents and coaches to set the example for how to deal with them. I only have one rule for the parents: Do not coach your child during the games or practice. Please encourage them and tell them they are doing well. These players will be nervous enough and are going to be doing their best not matter what. The last thing as parents we want to do is put more pressure on them with all the pressure they put on themselves to make us happy.

Dawson Mavericks Baseball Club is an independent organization that focuses on young people searching for development and exposure to a competitive level of baseball.
The club’s primary mission is to create an opportunity for young people to play competitive baseball together at a young age where they can learn essential skills and life lessons in ways that are consistent with best practices in youth athletics.
The Mavericks Baseball Club will teach the fundamentals of the game and promote good sportsmanship and respect for all participants; emphasizing:

· Fundamental individual & team based skills
· Sportsmanship
· Teamwork
· Leadership
