Motivational Monday Tip of the Day -Player Confidence Comes After Good Baseball Fundamentals
So many people believe it is what is between the ears - the player's mental state - that is the difference between successful athletes and unsuccessful ones. I disagree, for the most part. I often tell people and believe it, if I had the choice between good fundamentals or confidence; I would choose the fundamentals every time. Of course, those with good fundamentals usually have success, which leads to confidence and mentally tough players. However, the good fundamentals came first, so give me those. I made it to the big leagues without confidence and
had a little success because of good baseball fundamentals and great hand eye coordination I just wish I realized I had those at the time.
That is a long way of saying, "Teach the baseball fundamentals, or find someone that can teach them."
