So many people believe it is what is between the ears - the player's mental state - that is the difference between successful athletes and unsuccessful ones. I disagree, for the most part. I often tell people and believe it, if I had the choice between good fundamentals or confidence; I would choose the fundamentals every time. Of course, those with good fundamentals usually have success, which leads to confidence and mentally tough players. However, the good fundamentals came first, so give me those.
