Why Youth Baseball Training

"First, nothing is more important than proper coaching training, as coaches are the conduit to our youth. I feel like one of the most fortunate former, pro athletes because I found my passion in life. Helping youth reach their potential while having fun at the same time, has been as personally rewarding as playing major league baseball. I feel qualified to teach the game because, at one time or another, I made every mistake there is in baseball. I teach from experience as well as from all the study I have put into it over the years. Baseball is a game of failure, so, from experience at the highest level, I help kids deal with failure as they learn the fundamentals, which often puts them on their way to reaching their potential. In addition, I have witnessed and dealt with the player/coach, player/parent, and parent/coach relationships to the extent that I feel I have the expertise to offer in these areas."

Jack Perconte played 12 years of professional baseball, including seven in the majors for the
Dodgers, Indians, Mariners and White Sox, with a career .270 average in the majors and a .311 mark in the minor leagues. A native of Joliet, Ill., Jack was a 16th round draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1976 out of Murray State University and made his big league debut with the Dodgers in 1980. Jack operated a baseball and softball training academy in Naperville, Illinois for 19 years.

Jack is perhaps the only major league playerever to be married to an ordained Methodist minister, Linda (still his wife, and mother of his three adult children), and he graduated summa cum laude from Murray State University, with a B.Sc. in sociology. Jack has helped his son, Michal, to play professional baseball.
