What Makes Baseball Teams a Target for Hacks?
By Chris Sloan, 0 CommentsWhen it comes to making baseball throws, it is best when players play with no fear. However, some baseball throws are trickier than others are, and good players must think twice before making them. Quick thoughts race through good ballplayer's minds in a heartbeat, as, "What are the odds of getting the guy out, and based on those odds, is it worth the risk?" Making the wrong decision with those tough baseball throw decisions may cost teams the game. Of course, there is a right way to play the game of baseball that takes many young ball players years to learn. Often at the youth levels, players see base runners off a base and automatically think they must try to get the runner out. Once again, some baseball throws are not worth the risk, as often, "The best throw is a no throw," is a good philosophy. Good baseball coaches do not scold players for making unnecessary baseball throws because developing aggressive players, who are unafraid, is good. However, coaches use those moments to teach players about the odds and consequences of some plays, helping them learn the finer points of the game. Following are the riskiest throws by position that players must learn to take careful analysis of before making.
The charge play throw on slow rollers is a difficult one that is unnecessary. Sometimes it is best that third baseman just "eats" this throw in order to avoid creating putting a base runner in scoring position, if not worse.
Once again, youth baseball coaches are there to help players learn which throws are best and when, so ballplayers develop great baseball instincts.
