Common Injuries in Baseball and How to Treat Them
By Chris Sloan, 0 CommentsMany young baseball players feel like they can only succeed when everything is perfect. When they have fundamental swing problems or have less confidence, they defeat themselves before at-bats by thinking they will fail. That should not be the case. I prepare my baseball students with two thoughts that address that situation. First, I inform them, "You will never be perfect, and even the greatest major league hitters have fundamental weaknesses" - at least at times. Second, I tell them that they will only be "in the zone" - that state when things seem easy - for only a short period all season, if at all." Most of the time, hitting is a battle. Those "Gamers," who are willing to accept the physical and mental hitting challenges, will succeed more than those unwilling to do so.
