What Makes Baseball Teams a Target for Hacks?
By Chris Sloan, 0 CommentsDespite the young slugger having 4 RBI, a homer and double on the day, young Timmy Bentley was quickly benched for his mistake.
"I was just trying to encourage Johnny after his strikeout," said Bentley. "He already had 2 hits, but he swung at high fastball way over his head that last at-bat."
Otters coach, Bob Rose, said "I needed to set an example that mediocrity is not a cause for celebration. I know Timmy might have just been trying to encourage little Johnny, but where does it end? Next thing you know we'll be high fiving for errors!"
After the game we caught up with Timmy's father John Bentley and he stated "it was absolutely the right move. If we didn't set the precedent now these kids might start getting excited about a 3rd place finish in the silver bracket; heck, that's like 27th place and nothing to celebrate."
